12 Jan

Okay, I admit, I was freaking out about not knowing my classes. Not in a big, “Oh my gosh, I don’t have classes what am I going to do aneurysm” sort of way, but certainly in a “Man, this sucks.” way.

But no more! FOR HERE IS MY CLASS SCHEDULE. (For your information, Egypt/Middle East weeks are Sunday-Thursday, with Friday and Saturday being the weekend).

SUNDAY: Ancient Egypt 10:00am-11:15am
Intro. to Photography 11:30-12:45pm
Colloquial Arabic 2:00-3:15pm

MONDAY: Muslim Political Thought 11:30-12:45pm
Colloquial Arabic 2:00-2:50pm
People and Cultures of the Middle East and North Africa 3:30-4:45pm

WEDNESDAY: Same as Sunday!

THURSDAY: Same as Monday!

So, pretty exciting stuff! Although for whatever reason, I am in SUPER ADVANCED colloquial Arabic. I mean, I was originally placed in section 109-12, but now I’m in 109-13. Weird weird. Who knows, I may be really bad at it and drop down to 109-10 (it’s technically an elective credit for me, since I’m not pursuing an Arabic Language Minor). It also sucks Arabic meets four times a week…if it only met two or even three (like at AU) I could have probably arranged to have classes only three days a week. C’est la vie!

However, I am RIDICULOUSLY excited for my photography class! How awesome will it be to take a photo class in CAIRO? Kick-butt awesome, that’s how. And my other classes seem wonderful too. So excited!

So I’ve got my ticket booked, my room confirmed, my classes taken care of, my passport and visa wrapped up….still need to call the bank (will do right now!) and pack and probably tons of other things but…….

Oh my goodness this is really happening.
